Silk is cultivated in North and South Vietnam and woven by Vietnamese craftsmen and women. It is used in the making of much art and craftwork: clothes, bags, lamps and lanterns, paintings on silk.
These silk scarves are made in the area around Hanoi in the north of Vietnam. The silk is printed with motifs of flowers, trees, geometric forms and the Chinese symbol of longevity. The scarves can be worn in any season.
