Singha shaped stamp
The water buffalo is a particularly special animal in Vietnam, especially to Vietnamese country people. It reflects both the gentleness and the tenacity of the Vietnamese. The transformation of the buffalo bone into decorative objects necessitates great skills from Vietnmese craftsmen and women.
This stamp is handmade in the area around Hanoi. On its back is the sculpted form of a Singha lion, the mythical animal that guards Buddhist temples. The stamp is the shape of the Chinese symbol for longevity.
